ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE

Environmental Committee - Academic Year 2026/2027

This year, we have a new Environmental Committee made up of pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th classes.

The committee is overseen by our teachers, Ms. Toomey and Ms. Keane who will be meeting regularly to promote environmental awareness throughout the school. The pupils work together to encourage everyone to care for the environment and to make our school a greener and more sustainable place.

Committee members will help organise environmental initiatives such as recycling programmes, compost bins in classrooms, swap shops, biodiversity projects and much more. They also share ideas with their classmates and encourage positive environmental habits both at school and at home.

The Environmental Committee plays an important role in helping our school community take responsibility for protecting the environment and creating a cleaner, healthier future for all.

Compostable bins will be introduced shortly on a trial basis in our 5th and 6th classes, with the aim of rolling the initiative out to all classes across the school.
